Old Lady is right but she forgot to add that you will not even be allowed to drive up to Whistler! If you do not live in Whistler or aren't driving an olympic vehicle, you HAVE to take the public transportation. If you are just coming here for the events, I would not suggest renting a car. It will end up being more trouble and money than it's worth. Not to mention they are going to be shutting down quite a few streets which might throw some of the mapquest dependents off a bit.
