Four Basic Techniques For Making Cash Online
November 13, 2009 by JoelC2009
There are many different ways of making a living online, but you need to know some of the basic terminology in order to find more information because it’s hard to research something if you don’t even know what it’s called. Here are some terms you may be unfamiliar with that are crucial to understanding how to make a living on the Internet.
First, there is article marketing. This term refers to the practice of writing original articles and publishing them on article directories, where they can be copied and used on other websites free of charge. Yes, that’s right, you write articles and give them away. The catch is that the person who uses the article must include your resource box at the end. You put a link in this area that either takes the person to a item you are selling or your website. Hopefully, some of the people who click on the link will buy the product you are promoting and you’ll make money. This is an extremely well tested way of making money online.
Affiliate marketing refers to the process of selling other people’s products. You can do this on your own website or use affiliate marketing in conjunction with article marketing and link directly to the product if the article directory allows it. In affiliate marketing, you get a special URL from the affiliate network or company that has your ID embedded into it. When someone clicks on your link and buys the service, you receive a commission.
There are ad networks that allow you display advertising on your website and get paid whenever someone clicks on one of the ads. The most popular of these ad networks is Adsense, which is run by Google. These ads can pay well if your website is about a topic that people pay a lot to advertise in. If there is very little advertising related to the subject you write about, you may only make a few pennies for each click.
You can also use Cost Per Action ads to make money over the internet. These ads are usually graphics that your website visitors can click on to be taken to an offer. Instead of being paid only when someone buys through your link, CPA ads pay when a certain action is taken by the user. This often involves signing up for a free trial or a newsletter.
These four methods are the basic ways of making money on the ‘net. There are other ways, but you will do well to start by learning more about these and taking steps to put them into action.

There really is very little advertising going on in Hooterville…at least not the kind the rest of you know. We're just trying to get Billy Bob to buy something from Dwayne. My blog is for me…and a few followers who can't believe I actually can make a living doing this. I had missed you and actually wrote about wondering where the hell you had been. You remind me of me on a much larger, more drug and alcohol induced state. HA!

[...] From LVSP blog, Lightspeed Venture Partners Managing Director Jeremy Liew (AdExchanger.com Q&A) looks at the FTC Chairman Leibowitz's and Congress members' thoughts on behavioral targeting and pending regulations which may force serious changes for online advertising network and web publishers. Liew writes, “What (Congressman) Boucher and Leibowitz are talking about is to move beyond this principle and essentially establish an opt in process for third party cookies (which would include the cookies for all ad networks). This is an impossible position. For a start, ad networks typically don’t have space on a publisher page to even ask for an opt in. ” Digital Out-Of-Home Growing [...]
Dana,
Leave the football hooligans be – they are people too. As for vuvuzelas waking you at 6h30 in the morning think of it as decreasing your carbon footprint. Imagine all the electricity we could save by not using alarm clocks and depending solely on the trusty ole vuvu. Perhaps it could serve as job creation and boost the economy seeing as SA is not getting any of the tournaments' TV rights money and very little of the advertising income either. If we get enough professional vuvu early morning blowers SA may just break even in terms of the money spent on the infrastucture and stadia. You heard it here first!
