I’ve Got A Few Summer Travel Ideas
September 30, 2009 by JoelC2009
I’ve been thinking about where I could go with a lot of vacation attractions, but will be sensitive to my tight budget. Here’s an idea, how about a SoCal vacation? There you will find theme parks, beaches, great weather and a lot more.
Another possibility would be Hawaii. You can almost feel that warm ocean water right now, but remember that there are offsetting advantages to the Golden State. The Southern California Vacation Guru has written about the differences between vacations in Southern California and Hawaii. The beaches in SoCal do not have as many rock outcroppings and the sun is less intense (as is the humidity). The water temperature is higher in the Aloha state, but in the middle of summer, the cooler water can be more refreshing.
Hawaii does have an advantage with such beautiful natural countryside and vegetation, enhanced by the local Polynesian culture. On the other hand, there are many different cultures to be experienced in the Southern California melting pot.
The beaches are just one of many attractions to be enjoyed in Southern California. There are a half-dozen major theme parks to be visited. In particular, Six Flags Magic Mountain and Knott’s Berry Farm top the list for thrill rides, with the Six Flags roller coasters being in especially great abundance and variety. You’ll discover many intimidating coasters and thrill rides at Knott’s and Six Flags. Disneyland has a few attractions that would be considered thrill rides, but not nearly as many as those other two parks.
There aren’t many roller coasters to be found in Hawaii, unless you consider wintertime surfing to qualify in that category. It may be that California offers more ways to trim the budget, but sometimes there are great Hawaii vacation packages to be found on the internet or in the newspaper Travel section.

Oh. My. God.
Why are you rushing through the story? You just told me like half the story in ONE paragraph.
You need to expand it a bit (Okay, maybe not a bit…ALOT).
First of all get rid of that "(me)" thing in the first sentence. Never put that in a story. Everyone is going to know your name is Jasmine Waikern because you start out with the "Hi my name is…."
Anyway, your story is so confusing. You switch from "I have black hair and purple eyes.." to "My alarm clock goes off."
Don't do that.
I'm going to edit it for you just because your story made my day.
***************************************************************
My alarm clock goes off. I groggily shut if off and roll out of bed.
"Jasmine, are you awake?" I hear my Mom yell from downstairs.
"Mmmyeahh," I say between yawns.
After a hot shower, I get dressed, brush my hair and quickly go downstairs.
"Jasmine, your just on time," Mom says. "I made your favorite-Blueberry pancakes!"
By now, my stomach was churning in hunger. "Thanks."
I wolf down the pancakes and then wash it down with a glass of cold milk.
I was just going for seconds when I glance at the clock.
"Oh no, my bus!" I panic as I grab my backpack.
As I'm walking towards the bus stop, I see my best friend Amber.
"AMBER!" I scream.
She turns around and smiles. "Long time no see Jasmine."
"It's been a while," I reply nodding. "How was your summer?"
"It was great!" She grins. "We went to Texas."
"Cool," I say. "Sounds like it was alot of fun."
"It was," She replied as our bus pulls up. "There are alot of farms."
*******
I'm going to stop there because the rest of your paragraph is too rushed.
Remember, expand it out a bit.
So, being from Southern California, my UCD friends pointed out my overuse of "dude"….so it's Dude-Che
Dear Pam, I love how you are an 80's fan and a huge movie buff. I also am one of those people who lived in NY for a while and dreamed of living in Southern California when it was snowing in NY. I actually did move to Cali when I left NY and southern california to be exact. You are not missing anything, just so you know. The weather was nice, but there is nothing like the east coast, in my opinion. Looking forward to checking out the rest of your site! Best Wishes, Gabriella
They produce the Coachella Music and Arts festival successfully in the Southern California desert and they deal with crowds of 50,000 and it will be three days this year with camping. They also have been, or are, involved in the Bob Marley Day Festival in Long Beach each year so they also know something about reggae. The company is based in Southern California so perhaps that might be a show stopper…]]>
UPDATE: I have 131 snow globes altogether now. Not 39 anymore. I found my long lost ones in a closet. xP]]>
