3 fantastic ways to Re-decorate your home

May 8, 2010 by · 3 Comments

You have often heard the saying “there is no place like home.” This is very true, especially if you spend a lot of time at home. For most people, they haven’t made a change in their home in 20 years. Because of this, their homes can get very boring to them. If this is the case there are three easy ways to redecorate your home.

1. Use chandelier lamps – imagine walking into a home and looking up at the ceiling to find a beautiful chandelier lamp hanging from the ceiling. Well, you can do the same for your home. Chandeliers don’t have to be expensive, there are inexpensive ones and you can do away with just getting one that fits your budget. While crystal chandeliers can be very elegant, they can also be very expensive. It is easy to find an alternative within your budget.

Chandelier lamps can easily revitalize your home and make any room look really beautiful. They brighten up the place. One thing to keep in mind when using chandelier lamps is to make sure to use proper lighting. When people don’t have proper lighting, they can often get very tired and sometimes even feel headaches. As this is the case, you need to make sure that when using chandelier lamps you adjust the lighting to lessen constraints on your eyes. Another thing to bear in mind is the strength of your ceiling. If your ceiling is not strong enough to hold the chandelier then either go with a chandelier that weighs less or try to find a way to strengthen your ceiling.

2. Table lamps lighting – another way to redecorate your room is to use table lamps. However, when using table lamps make sure that you’re also using the proper lighting. This is especially important when reading. Reading can often constrain the eyes when you don’t have enough lighting, or when you have improper lighting. Table lamps lighting is very important for your eyes.

3. Furniture bedroom furniture – when picking bedroom furniture try to keep your taste in mind. Such things as color preferences are very important when picking the right furniture for you room. If you prefer a black marble tone color then make sure that the furniture bedroom furniture is also the same kind of color. However, if you share a room with someone, be sure to also take into account the other person’s color preferences.

For example, if your husband or wife prefers a different color then perhaps it will be more effective to find a halfway point where you both select a color that you agree on for the bedroom. Lastly, be sure to choose a color that also matches the rest of the bedroom. Blending together all the unique features of your bedroom will increase the elegancy of your room.

A Raw Food Diet. I Mean Complete Body Detoxifier (you may say)…

What’s in a Raw Food Diet?

First of all, know that this is more than a diet. Yes, you will lose weight but more important, you will totally cleanse your entire body. Usually, this type of diet is suppose to go on for about a month. What it does is it totally and completely cleanses your entire body. You already have toxic waste that is within your intestinal walls. Not to mention the toxins that are all throughout your body. There are other detox diets but the raw food detox diet usually lasts longer because you are actually consuming food. There are some in which you do not eat anything from three days up to about two weeks to an entire month.

What is Raw Food?

Raw foods are fresh fruits and vegetables. No salts or preservatives are to be consumed whatsoever. Then of course there are good fats that can be consumed such as salt free peanuts and avocados as well. There are different ways to prepare the foods as well besides just merely eating them. Such ways include making smoothies or steaming the veggies. As long as you remember the rule of no salt. Of course, the fat intake should be limited. In fact, you should slowly decrease your fat intake until you actually lose the desire to eat those foods. You can also consume foods that are organic as well.

How Do I Know that this is My Diet?

Well, to answer that question frankly, everyone should go on this diet or one similar to it at least two times a year. The reason for that is to cleanse your system entirely. There are some people who wouldn’t be able to handle it, though. There are several symptoms that you may encounter such as headaches, fatigue and dizziness. This is due to lack of foods that you normally consume. Then there were cold chills, bad breath and lack of mental focus. However, in the long run, you will definitely start to feel better. The first couple weeks seem to be the hardest part of the diet. It is recommended that you always talk to your doctor before beginning a diet. He will be able to explain reasons for going on the diet and let you know whether or not that it is the best diet for you.

What’s the Good, the Bad and the Ugly About a Raw Food Diet?

Well, as you know, this diet goes on for a month and you barely eat anything. If you are a meat eater, then you have to give up meats for the month. Some people can’t do that. Then of course, as mentioned before, there are several symptoms that may cause you to not want to go on the diet. Since you are cleansing your body, you will definitely feel it throughout your body. It effects everything but in the end, you will have a clearer mind and feel so much better. Not to mention you will lose a tremendous amount of weight as well. Of course, this diet isn’t for everyone, but it could be necessary for your health. You may notice that your skin is drier than normal. It may even become itchy as well. With this diet, it is important to make sure that you drink plenty of water and keep some good lotions handy as well. Then there is also an increase in energy levels, weight loss and you will feel a lot happier as well. Get this, detoxing can cure diseases as well.

What Else Should I do While on The Raw Food Diet?

Exercise is important for your body, especially while dieting. You need to circulate your blood and keep your muscles active. Do not over do the exercising, though. Some of the symptoms already include dizziness, so we definitely do not want to over do it because we can do some serious harm to ourselves. It is good to keep track of your progress as well. Keep track of how much weight you lost and the foods that you consumed. Keep in mind that you are allowed to eat as much as you want as long as it is raw foods. Why raw rather than cooked, you ask? Well, there is a lot that happens to food when it is cooked. Some vegetables lose their nutritional value when they are cooked.

There are other advantages such as the enzymes which help with the digestion. On the other hand, some say that enzymes lead to toxicity and eventually obesity. Some say that they also contain bacterias that can overtake the immune system and harm the digestive system.

As with any diet plan, it is best to always consult your doctor before making any final decision because your doctor will know the best route for you to take. Remember it is recommended to do some sort of detox, whether it be Raw Food Diet or another, at least two times a year.

Sciatic Discomfort – Quick Tips To Help Keep Your Sanity

If you have ever suffered from Sciatica or Sciatic Nerve problems you will know how uncomfortable and painful this condition can be. Sitting to eat dinner, driving the car, even sleeping can be greatly affected by sciatic pain and unlike many other joint or muscle problems it is simply not possible to isolate and immobilize the affected area until your body has had a chance to heal itself but if you follow these couple of tips you will have the best chance at keeping your sanity!

Accurate Diagnosis of your condition – The first thing is to get an accurate diagnosis of why you are in pain. Often times sciatica is caused by muscle tension or imbalances which can directly affect the discs and vertebrae in your back which results in a irritated sciatic nerve. Other ‘structural’ problems with your spine can also cause this irritation and that is why an accurate diagnosis is essential for finding the best treatment.

Heat and Cold Packs – many people report gaining relief through the use of heat and cold packs particularly where the problem lies with increased muscle tension. Alternating between both hot and cold packs on the affected area has also been reported as a good pain reliever. The hot pack promotes blood flow and can release tensed up muscles and the cold pack helps in reducing the amount of inflammation so you are getting the best of both worlds when alternating between the two.

Physiotherapy – this is something that I have not had any success with in dealing with my sciatica, however combined with the right exercises and assuming that your condition is suitable to be treated this way there is no reason not to give it a go. Many doctors see physiotherapy as the first step to easing the problem and once again the blood flow in and around the muscles and loosening of joints may be beneficial to you.

Anti Inflammatory/Pain Relieving Medication – No doubt one of the most important steps to easing your sciatic pain is to reduce any inflammation of the offending area and of course to limit your pain so you can get on with life. Unfortunately this is where the use of NSAID’s or non-steroidal anti inflammatory drugs is the road most doctors take. Sure, they may ease your pain and reduce inflammation but if you had any idea of the unwanted effects these drugs can have on you I’m sure you would think twice.

Many back pain and sciatica sufferers are forced to use these drugs long term, previously myself included, as most back complaints are not easily or quickly resolved. This long term us of NSAID’s can have lasting effects on your health. Problems with kidneys, the liver, the intestines and the stomach lining itself are not uncommon and of course add to this the noticeable side effects like cramping, headaches and drowsiness just to mention a few.

So how do we protect ourselves against these problems while still getting the pain relief and reduced inflammation that we need? The answer is natural medicines that do the same job without jeopardizing our future health. There are many great all natural products on the market these days and for peace of mind there really is no other choice.

Pain Information And Various Treatments That Are Available

February 7, 2009 by · 5 Comments

What options are there when aches and pains strike. This varies on how severe the pain is, and where in the body the pain occurs . If the pain is a headache, toothache or any of the pains we all get at some time, then an plain analgesic will usually be enough. For toothache pain medication containing Ibuprofen is probably the best choice, toothache is often accompanied by inflammation, Ibuprofen is an anti inflammatory and will therefore help to decrease the inflammation. If the pain persists you should get medical attention, as the pain could be the symptom of a more chronic underlying medical problem. Pain is how your body tells you that something is amiss, don’t ignore this message if pain is persistant.

Pain can be separated into two types, acute pain and chronic pain. Acute pain is usually a short term pain that recedes with no treatment, it has no serious underlying medical problems associated with it and normally requires nothing more than over the counter analgesics. Chronic pain though is more serious, chronic pain generally persists and is likely to be associated with an underlying disease or injury. It can often start from something as simple as a sprain or an infection that then becomes more serious, or it can be caused by a developing disease or cancer. Chronic pain can persist for months, possibly even years. As well as a requirement to treat the main problem, pain killers stronger than normal pain medication is usually required. Among the most used pain medications include tramadol, ultram and ultracet, with tramadol being the most common prescribed. These pain killers aren’t scheduled as controlled substances, it is therefore possible to order tramadol online. In many cases pain medication is prescribed with seperate treatments to treat the cause of the problem.

Probably the commonest form of pain we all experience is headaches. Headaches may disappear without recourse to any treatment, over the counter pain medication will usually suffice to ease the pain. Migraine is a much more severe type of headache and can be caused by several conditions. A migraine can be accompanied by other conditions, for example changing moods, light sensitivity, one sided headache and nausea or vomiting. A migraine can last for several hours, but can last for several days. Anyone with a migraine should get medical attention as soon as possible.

For pain that is associated with muscles and joints, physiotherapy is often used, and in many cases can result in the complete removal of the underlying problem. Electrical stimulation is a sometimes used, sometimes as a last resort. Electrical stimulation interrupts pain signals in the spinal cord. Acupuncture may also be used to try and lessen pain, fine needles are place at key points on the skin, these disrupt the flow of spasms through the body. Needles may be used in areas removed from the source of the pain.

The main point to observe, is that if a pain becomes serious or unbearable, especially if it is persistant, seek immediate medical attention, it could be down to a more serious underlying problem.

Natural Pain Remedies – A Wise Choice

January 3, 2009 by · 4 Comments

DISCLAIMER – The information in this article is intended for your general knowledge only and is not a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Always consult a medical professional before taking action.

Being in pain is no fun. Not only does it make life all that more difficult but often times the doctor prescribed medication brings with it side effects and other unwanted problems that we have to deal with. Thankfully there are a number of all natural pain relief products on the market that are kind to your body and just as effective as the regular ‘drugs’, read on to find out more.

When we have an ache or pain we usually end up paying a visit to our doctor right? And nine times out of ten our doctor will prescribe a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug to relieve the pain. While these drugs may provide initial relief there are often unwanted side effects and certainly when used over any period of time these drugs have the potential to do serious damage.

Tests have shown that these non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs can have a serious effect on the liver, kidneys and intestines and can cause such problems as cramping, headaches, stomach ulcers, internal bleeding and even death! When taking Celebrex for example the chances of suffering a heart attack or stroke are 2.5 to 3.4 times higher depending on the dose.

The good news is that all natural alternatives are readily available. These natural pain relievers take away the risks associated with conventional pain medication and relieve your pain by utilizing what is called Systemic Enzyme Therapy. Not only does this natural therapy leave you without nasty side effects but it also aids in the regeneration and rebuilding of damaged tissues, rather than just masking the pain in the hope that the body heals itself quickly.

Although many doctors are still to acknowledge the effectiveness of natural pain treatments it is high time that we realize that we don’t need to put both our short and long term health at risk by continuing to consume these drugs in copious amounts. If we stop to think about not only the side effects that we feel straight away but also the hidden effects of conventional pain medication we should soon realize that the natural way is the best choice.

Personally I find it both amusing and scary that when I first had trouble with back pain I was prescribed Panadeine Forte by the truckload and told to take Nexium each morning to put a protective lining on my stomach! If that doesn’t say something about the damage possible with regular pain medication I don’t know what does!

Don’t put your body at risk any longer! For more information on the best natural pain relief please head on over to Back Pain Products and check out the very popular Heal N Soothe. Your body will thank you for it!
